Jennifer Beckman, M.D., is a licensed psychiatrist practicing at Georgia Behavioral Health Professionals in the Marietta and Johns Creek locations. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Beckman graduated with her medical degree from University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. She completed her internship and residency training in psychiatry at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Beckman is an active member of professional organizations including the American Psychiatric Association, Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association and the Neuroscience Education Institute.
Medical and Therapeutic Services
Dr. Beckman is a proponent of the bio-psycho-social model to well-being. She has a long-standing love and passion for helping others to reach their full human potential – physically, mentally and spiritually. She enjoys working with people of all ages and walks of life, providing comprehensive psychiatric care for patients from ages 5 and up. Her services include general consultations, initial psychiatric evaluations, medication management and psychotherapy. Treatment is available for issues including, but not limited to, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, attention deficit disorders and psychiatric issues secondary to general medical conditions.
In addition to her love for psychiatry, Dr. Beckman is also the proud mother of a 4 year-old son and two dogs. She has a love for sports and grew up playing several of them, including intercollegiate basketball. She has lived in the Atlanta area now for almost 5 years. In the past, she has also lived in Tennessee, Florida and North Carolina.
